GENERAL - How to Adjust the Web Browser Text Size/ Use the Zoom Feature

The purpose of this article is to provide instructions on how to use the browser's Zoom feature to make the font bigger on any web page.

How-to Guide

Most browsers support adjusting the Zoom level using mouse wheel. To adjust Zoom level with the mouse wheel while holding the “CTRL" key and:

  • Scroll down to decrease text size
  • Scroll up to increase the text size

Adjust the text size using:

Internet Explorer:

  1. Click “View” -> “Text Size”
  2. Select from one of the four alternate text sizes: smallest, smaller, larger, or largest

Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Click “View” > “Zoom
  2. Click “Increase” or “Decrease” to change the text size accordingly
    - or -
  3. From the keyboard, press “CTRL” + “+” to increase the size or “CTRL” + “-“ to decrease the size

Google Chrome:

  1. Click the customization menu icon (three stacked lines) to open up the customization drop-down menu.
  2. On the menu, there should be a row titled 'Zoom' in the first column. In the column next to this, there should be a '-' sign, the number 100% and a '+' sign. Click the '-' or '+' to increment the zoom by a set factor. Click the '100%' to enter in a percentage number for the zoom.
