Purpose

This article explains the meaning of the message and provides solutions to any issues that may arrise as a result of it.


Problem

User is receiving the error message "The Content Below is Outside of the Blackboard Learn Environment" when clicking on certain items in a course.


Resolution

Many courses use standardized syllbi, textbook publisher materials or course cartridges with materials that reside outside of the Blackboard system. If you receive this message, it simply means content that resides on another server is displaying within the Blackboard frame. You should still be able to see and interact with the content.

If you are not able to see the content, try adding the content URL to your list of trusted sites. You can determine the URL of the content by right-clicking on it and choosing to open in a new window, or selecting Properties.
